Mechanical processing
A machining process that results in a thread being cut into a sheet or tubular product.
If the thickness of the material in which the thread is required is less than 2 mm, the thread can be cut using a thermal drill (flow-drill).
Threading uses a dedicated machine that maintains a perpendicular position to the part at all times to keep the thread straight.
Snatching
A machining process that produces a tapered recess in the bore, typically used to seat screw heads.
The knurling process uses a dedicated machine that maintains a perpendicular position to the part at all times so that the knurling is uniform.
Precision drilling
A mechanical processing process whereby the internal dimension of a bore is reamed to high precision tolerances with a drill bit.
Part edge rounding
By default, KNK MEFAB performs edge rounding for all laser-cut workpieces.
The process is essential so that sharp edges do not injure the operator of the next production process, as well as the end customer during the operation of the part.
These indications often appear in the developed drawings – KNK MEFAB always takes this into account.
Edge rounding uses a dedicated machine that maintains a perpendicular position to the part at all times so that the process processes the edges of the parts without changing the geometry of the part.
